Boosting Ramadan Relief Package Budget to 12 Billion Rupees

The Prime Minister of Pakistan has unveiled the Wazir-e-Azam Ramadan Relief Package for the year 2024, aiming to extend a 30 percent discount on 19 essential food items to deserving and low-income households throughout Ramadan. This initiative, designed to alleviate the financial strain on citizens, particularly during the holy month, marks a crucial step in supporting vulnerable communities.

The Ramadan Relief Package 2024 underscores the government’s commitment to assisting its citizens amidst economic challenges and inflation. By offering substantial discounts on vital food items, this support aims to ease the financial burden on Pakistani families during Ramadan.

For deserving and underprivileged families, the relief ration package can be obtained by visiting nearby utility stores. This package provides significant discounts on a range of household items, offering much-needed relief to families. Additionally, an online registration process has been introduced to streamline enrollment in this program.

Increasing the Ramadan Relief Package Budget to 12 Billion Rupees:

In response to the growing needs of the population, the government has augmented the budget for the Ramadan relief program. Originally set at seven billion rupees, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced an increase to 12 billion rupees. This expanded budget aims to extend support to more impoverished families, providing them with a 50 percent discount on essential items at utility stores.

It is anticipated that the augmented budget will benefit approximately eight million families, enabling them to access discounted household rations. Those who have not yet registered for the Ramadan Ration Relief Package are urged to do so promptly to meet their requirements during Ramadan.

Online Registration for Ramadan Rashan Relief:

The government has simplified the process by introducing online registration for the Ramadan ration package. Interested individuals can avail themselves of this program by sending their National Identity Card number to 5566 from their mobile phones. Upon completion, individuals will be included in the Ramadan relief package and can collect their ration from the nearest utility store by presenting the confirmation SMS. Eligible individuals will receive a 50 percent discount on 19 essential items.


To benefit from the Prime Minister’s Ramadan Ration Relief Program, individuals are encouraged to register promptly using the SMS code 5566. The increased budget reflects the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations during Ramadan. This relief is accessible to both beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program and other non-affiliated individuals, allowing them to access discounts on various items at their nearest utility store.
