FPSC Announces Schedule for CSS Preliminary Test (MPT) 2026
The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has issued a public notice regarding the MCQ Based Preliminary Test (MPT) for the upcoming CSS Competitive Examination-2026. Aspiring candidates are advised to apply online well before the deadline of Monday, August 25, 2025.
Key Dates and Test Schedule
MPT Test Date: The MCQ Based Preliminary Test (MPT) is scheduled to be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
Online Application Period: Candidates can apply online through the FPSC website from August 11 to August 25, 2025.
Application Closing Date: The final date for the submission of online applications is August 25, 2025.
Eligibility Cut-off Date: The cut-off date for determining eligibility (including age, qualification, and domicile) is December 31, 2025.
Passing the MPT is a mandatory prerequisite for applying and appearing in the main CSS Competitive Examination (CE) in 2026.
Eligibility Criteria for CSS MPT 2026
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the MPT:
Education: A minimum of a 2nd Division Bachelor’s degree.
Age Limit: Applicants must be between 21 and 30 years of age.
Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable by two years for categories mentioned in Rule 6 of the CSS CE Rules-2019 and onwards.
Gender and Inclusivity: Both male and female candidates, including special persons, are eligible to apply.
How to Apply Online and Examination Fee
Candidates are advised to follow these steps for a successful application:
Online Application: Carefully fill out the online application form on the FPSC’s official website and double-check all entries before final submission.
Examination Fee: Deposit the exam fee of Rs. 250/- before the closing date.
Challan Form: Candidates must bring the Original Challan Form (FPSC Receipt) to the exam center and hand it over to the supervisor before the test begins.
Important Instructions for Applicants
Test Centers: The MPT is likely to be held at 19 centers across the country, including major cities like Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, and others, subject to the availability of a sufficient number of candidates.
Admission Certificates: Admission Certificates can be downloaded from the FPSC website 10 days before the test date.
Fair Play: The FPSC has a zero-tolerance policy against cheating and the use of unfair means.
