Veterinary Officer:

Organization: Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO)

Job Title: Veterinary Officer

Location: District Office, Khairpur Mir’s & Jacobabad (duty station may vary)

Who can apply:

Minimum Qualifications:

DVM degree from an accredited university with a CGPA of 3 or higher
Minimum 2 years of experience in large animal care, development, and social mobilization

Skills and Knowledge Required:

Ability to work with local service providers, government vets, and paravets
Expertise in equine animal handling and veterinary knowledge
Experience implementing a 3-tier community development model
Strong computer and communication skills
Ability to build relationships with government officials and relevant organizations

Core Responsibilities:

Assist in implementing risk management processes
Help develop risk policies and procedures
Manage the Community Mobile Veterinary Clinic (CMVC) team
Provide veterinary services to working equines according to Brooke standards
Manage support staff, including farriers and drivers
Maintain treatment records and reports
Educate animal owners about disease prevention and good practices
Refer serious cases to qualified professionals
Conduct awareness sessions on equine health and management
Manage medicine supplies
Plan and implement community projects
Contribute to fundraising and communication efforts
Prepare annual work plans and budgets
Follow safety procedures and safeguarding policies
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
