Sindh Government Announces Female Driver Vacancies for Premier Bus Services
The Government of Sindh’s Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) is inviting applications from qualified women for driver positions across its major public transport projects in Karachi. This initiative is part of a broader effort to empower women and ensure safer travel for female passengers on services like the Pink Bus, Peoples Bus Service, Green Line, and Orange Line.
The recruitment drive aims to bring more women into the transport sector, a field where they have been traditionally underrepresented.
Key Job Openings: Drive the Future of Karachi’s Transport
The Sindh Mass Transit Authority is seeking experienced and qualified female drivers for several of its key bus services, including:
Green Line (GL)
Orange Line (OL)
Peoples Bus Service (PBS)
Pink Bus Service (dedicated to women)
Electric Vehicle (EV) Bus Projects
This move follows the successful launch and operation of women-only bus services, aiming to enhance the sense of security and convenience for female commuters.
Eligibility Criteria for Prospective Candidates
To be considered for these roles, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Educational Qualification: A minimum of an Intermediate level of education is required.
Driving License: Preference will be given to candidates who hold a valid HTV (Heavy Transport Vehicle) or PSV (Public Service Vehicle) license.
Experience: Prior experience in driving public service vehicles will be an added advantage. The SMTA will also provide additional training to successful candidates to familiarize them with the specific bus models and routes.
