Expression of Interest by the Planning & Development Department, Government of Sindh
The Planning & Development Department (P&DD) of the Government of Sindh has issued an Expression of Interest to appoint professionals for significant roles in the fields of Water Resource Engineering and Information Technology. These positions aim to support Sindh’s strategic development and infrastructure projects by leveraging technical expertise and comprehensive planning. The department, tasked with policy, planning, and development, plays a pivotal role in coordinating with national agencies, ministries, and international donors to drive the province’s growth.
Available Positions
- Member (Water) – SNIP Scale-II
- Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, preferably with specialization in Water Resource Engineering and Management (WREM), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university, along with at least six years of relevant experience. Alternatively, an M.E./M.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on WREM, or an equivalent qualification, is required with at least ten years of relevant experience.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical advice on water-related matters, including irrigation and drinking water.
- Develop short-, medium-, and long-term sectoral plans and strategies.
- Manage project processing for the water sector at various governmental levels, including preparation of briefs.
- Coordinate with federal and provincial departments for policy formulation and implementation.
- Oversee the preparation of the Annual Development Programme for the Water Sector.
- Manage financial strategies to expedite provincial and federal fund releases for water projects.
- Age Limit: Should not exceed 62 years.
- Member (Information Technology) – SMP Scale-II
- Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Information Technology or Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university, with a relevant Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Computer Science, Engineering (Electronics or IT). They should have at least six years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science or IT with a Bachelor’s in relevant fields and at least ten years of experience is acceptable.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic IT plans, including short-, medium-, and long-term goals.
- Provide technical support for the processing and appraisal of IT-related development schemes.
- Conduct monitoring and evaluation of development schemes.
- Develop IT policies for the province and oversee automation efforts within the P&DD.
- Coordinate IT policies and processes with other departments to streamline digital transformation within government functions.
- Age Limit: Should not exceed 62 years.
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must hold a domicile or PRC of Sindh Province.
- Selected individuals will be offered remuneration as per the Sindh Management Position Scales Policy, 2022.
- Initial contracts will last for two years, with possible extensions based on performance.
