Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Announces Vacancies in Digital Communication Department
The Government of Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced several vacancy positions for its Digital Communication Department (DCD). The department is seeking qualified, professional, energetic, and motivated individuals for appointment against a PSDP Project on a purely contract basis. All positions are located in Islamabad.
Available Job Positions and Eligibility Criteria
The ministry is looking to fill several technical and support staff roles. The details for each position are as follows:
Deputy Assistant Director (IT)
Pay Scale: PPS-06
Number of Posts: 1
Job Description: The role involves analyzing, planning, designing, and installing new computer systems. Responsibilities also include managing existing systems, ensuring secure backups, and providing ICT assistance to project staff.
Qualifications & Experience: A 2nd Class or Grade ‘C’ Master’s/Bachelor’s (16 years) degree in Computer Science, IT, or Software Engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering recognized by PEC.
Age Limit: Maximum 28 years. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in IT and System Administration.
Data Center Technician (IT)
Pay Scale: PPS-05
Number of Posts: 2 (for Primary-Evening and Night shifts)
Job Description: Responsible for assisting in Network Operation Center (NOC) operations, monitoring data center systems, and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues to ensure service reliability.
Qualifications & Experience: A DAE or minimum 2nd Class/Grade ‘C’ Bachelor’s degree (14 years) in a relevant field, OR an Intermediate with a Diploma in IT/Computer. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in data center operations or IT infrastructure maintenance is required.
Age Limit: 18-35 years.
Data Center Technician (Power & HVAC)
Pay Scale: PPS-05
Number of Posts: 1
Job Description: This technician will handle the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the electrical, power, and cooling (HVAC) systems of the Data Center.
Qualifications & Experience: An Associate or minimum 2nd Class/Grade ‘C’ Bachelor’s degree (14 years) in Power, Electrical, Electronics, HVAC, or Mechanical Engineering. Preferably 3 years of relevant experience in power systems, UPS, and HVAC operations.
Age Limit: 18-35 years.
Support Staff
Farash (PPS-01, 2 Posts): Responsible for office cleaning and hygiene. Requires a Primary Pass (preferred) and preferably 1 year of experience as an office attendant. Age: 18-25 years.
Jamadar (PPS-01, 2 Posts): Responsible for the cleaning of the data center facility and project office. Requires a Primary Pass (preferred) and preferably 1 year of cleaning and maintenance experience. Age: 18-25 years.
General Terms and Conditions
Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply.
The initial contract will be for one year or until the project completion, whichever comes first.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a test/interview. No TA/DA will be admissible.
