The Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), a leading think tank and an autonomous, non-profit research organization affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has announced vacancy opportunities. The IRS is seeking to hire highly motivated and dynamic individuals for several research positions on a purely ‘open-merit basis’.

Available Research Positions and Requirements

*The regular positions are non-pensionable but are eligible for gratuity/leave encashment after 5 years of service, subject to governmental salary/allowances increases per IRS Rules & Regulations 1984.

Ideal Candidate Profile: Preferred Skills and Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Educational Background: Graduates from top-ranking national or international universities in fields such as International Relations, Defence/Security Studies, South Asian/American/Middle Eastern/China Studies, Peace & Conflict Studies, International Political Economy, or Political Science.

  • Publications: Hold advanced degrees and have notable publications in international journals and magazines.

  • Communication Skills: Are proficient in English and possess excellent presentation, moderation, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Writing Skills: Have extraordinary writing skills and are adept at producing reports, press releases, and meeting minutes.

  • Research Abilities: Possess strong abilities in planning and executing research projects and events.

  • Personal Attributes: Are adaptable, capable of multitasking, and able to meet deadlines effectively.
