WAPDA Seeks Experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Expert for Warsak Dam Project
The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) is seeking the services of a highly qualified and experienced professional to fill the role of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Expert for the Warsak Hydroelectric Power Station 2nd Rehabilitation Project. This is a key role in a nationally significant project, falling under WAPDA’s “Decade of Dams” initiative.
Position Details and Eligibility Criteria

Place of Posting: Warsak HEPS 2nd Rehabilitation Project, Warsak
To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess:
Qualification:
A BS (Honors) degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
A NEBOSH International General Certification is mandatory.
Experience:
A minimum of seven (07) years of relevant experience in EHS management.
At least five (05) years of experience in a similar role on large-scale infrastructure projects.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the Power Sector, Hydropower projects, or projects funded by international donors.
Note: Special preference will be given to Pashto-speaking candidates who hold a KPK domicile.
Contract Tenure and Remuneration
Tenure: The appointment will be on a contract basis, initially for a period of one (01) year. The contract is extendable based on the satisfactory performance of the individual and the requirements of the project until its completion.
Pay Package: A competitive lump-sum pay package of Rs. 200,000/- per month will be offered, inclusive of all perks and privileges.
Key Responsibilities and Charter of Duties
The EHS Expert will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
Assisting project management in fulfilling their responsibilities towards the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) and the EHS plan.
Overseeing the completion of ESMP/EHS requirements for all rehabilitation works and at existing facilities like the Powerhouse and WAPDA Workshop.
Conducting regular EHS risk assessments, identifying potential hazards, and implementing mitigation measures.
Preparing and ensuring the timely submission of environmental and social monitoring reports to WAPDA management and donor agencies.
Maintaining comprehensive documentation of all EHS activities, including incident reports, inspections, and corrective actions.
Collaborating with consultants, contractors, and WAPDA management on all EHS matters.
Developing and conducting EHS training programs for all project staff and workers to enhance awareness and compliance.
Investigating all EHS incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
