Job Opportunities in Sindh Water and Agriculture Transformation (SWAT) Project
The Government of Sindh has announced a variety of exciting job opportunities under the Sindh Water and Agriculture Transformation (SWAT) Project, funded by the World Bank through IDA Credit No. Pak-7255. This project aims to improve water and agricultural productivity across 22 districts of Sindh, supporting flood-affected farmers while enhancing integrated water resource management.
Overview of the SWAT Project
- Total Approved Cost: $320 million
- Objective:
- Increase agricultural productivity in designated areas.
- Invest in policy reforms for water and agricultural sectors.
- Assist in post-2022 flood recovery by restoring crop production.
- Enhance overall water resource management in Sindh.
The project is being implemented by SIDA (Sindh Irrigation and Drainage Authority) in collaboration with the Irrigation Department and is administered through the Project Coordination and Monitoring Unit (PCMU).
Vacant Positions and Eligibility Criteria
- Assistant Director Engineering (PPS-07)
- Qualifications: B.E. Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and maintaining hydraulic structures.
- Skills Required:
- Expertise in MS Office, AutoCAD, and MS Project.
- Proficiency in English and local languages.
- Maximum Age: 40 years.
- Irrigation Specialist (PPS-10)
- Qualifications: Master’s in Irrigation, Hydraulics, or Integrated Water Resource Management.
- Experience: Minimum 15 years in project management and irrigation-related roles.
- Skills Required: Excellent reporting and communication skills.
- Maximum Age: 55 years.
- Social Safeguard Specialist (PPS-09)
- Qualifications: Master’s in Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, or relevant field.
- Experience: 20 years of relevant experience, including 10 years in social impact monitoring.
- Skills Required:
- Expertise in report writing and stakeholder communication.
- Familiarity with Sindh’s regulatory frameworks.
- Maximum Age: 55 years.
- Deputy Director (Planning and Design) (PPS-08)
- Qualifications: B.E. Civil Engineering; Master’s preferred.
- Experience: 10 years in canal rehabilitation, hydraulic modeling, and design.
- Skills Required: Knowledge of software like HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and FLOW-3D.
- Maximum Age: 45 years.
- Inspector of Works (PPS-07)
- Qualifications: B.E. Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in construction and quality control.
- Skills Required: Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
- Maximum Age: 40 years.
- Environmental Specialist (PPS-09)
- Qualifications: Master’s in Environmental Engineering or related field.
- Experience: 15 years of relevant experience in environmental management.
- Maximum Age: 45 years.
- Program Officer (PPS-07)
- Qualifications: Master’s in Social Sciences or equivalent.
- Experience: 5 years in development projects.
- Maximum Age: 40 years.
- Accounts Assistant (PPS-06)
- Qualifications: B.Com or BBA.
- Experience: 3 years in accounting or finance.
- Maximum Age: 35 years.
- Data Entry Operator (PPS-05)
- Qualifications: Graduation with a diploma in IT.
- Skills: Proficiency in MS Office.
- Maximum Age: 35 years.
- Driver (PPS-01)
- Qualifications: Intermediate with a valid driving license.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of driving experience.
- Maximum Age: 35 years.

- Contract Basis: All positions are purely temporary and for a 1-year term, extendable based on project needs.
