1. Product Facilitation Unit Officer (PFUO) (OG-II / OG-I)
This role is central to the innovation and integrity of NBP’s Islamic banking products. The PFUO will work within the Shariah Compliance Department to ensure that all new and existing products, services, and related documentation are in strict adherence to Shariah principles.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Reporting to: Head – Shariah Compliance Department
Educational Qualification:
A minimum of a Graduation or equivalent degree from an HEC-recognized institution is required.
Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s degree in Islamic Banking/Finance, ACCA/CA Part Qualified status, or a relevant Certification/Diploma or Specialization in Islamic Finance or Jurisprudence (Fiqh Ul Muamlat).
Experience:
A minimum of 02 years of experience in Banking and/or financial institutions.
At least 01 year of this experience must be in Islamic Financial Institutions specifically in the fields of Shariah Compliance, product development, Shariah Advisory, and/or Shariah Audit.
Essential Skills:
Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, content writing, and Shamila Shariah research software.
A solid understanding of Shariah Law as it applies to Commerce and Banking, along with regulations issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
Core Duties & Responsibilities
The PFUO will be responsible for:
Assisting in the Shariah-based evaluation of proposals, contracts, agreements, manuals, process flows, checklists, and other documents.
Reviewing Credit Approval Memorandums (CAMs) for final endorsement by the Head of Shariah Compliance.
Supporting the Unit Head in analyzing the process flows for various products and services.
Scrutinizing product policies, operational manuals, and legal documentation for Shariah compliance.
Participating in User Acceptance Tests (UATs) for new systems and products.
Reviewing syndicate financing documents to ensure both Shariah compliance and operational accuracy.
Examining conversion-related documents to ensure they align with Shariah guidelines and approved product structures.
Conducting customer visits alongside the business team to assess the practical application of products and processes.
Attending and conducting meetings with internal and external stakeholders regarding product structuring and system-related discussions.
2. Shariah Compliance Officer (SCO) (OG-II / OG-I)
The Shariah Compliance Officer acts as a guardian of Islamic principles across all of the bank’s Aitemaad Islamic Banking operations. This role involves continuous monitoring, reviewing, and reporting to ensure that every facet of the bank’s Islamic operations complies with the directives of the Shariah Board and regulatory bodies.

Preference will be given to candidates holding a Master’s degree in Islamic Banking/Finance, ACCA/CA Part Qualified status, or a related Certification/Diploma or Specialization in Islamic Finance/CIPA/CIMA.
Experience:
A minimum of 02 years of experience in Banking and/or a financial institution.
At least 01 year of this experience must be in an Islamic financial institution in the field of Shariah Compliance, Shariah Advisory, and/or Shariah Audit.

A comprehensive understanding of Shariah Law as applied to Commerce and Banking, and regulations issued by the SBP.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
The SCO’s responsibilities are extensive and include:
Ensuring that all Aitemaad operations are compliant with Fatwas and guidelines issued by the Shariah Board and the SBP.
Conducting regular Shariah Compliance Reviews of various departments, including Treasury, Financing Portfolio, and Pool Management.
Pre-reviewing all marketing materials to ensure they are Shariah compliant and coordinating with SBP inspection teams.
Reviewing Credit Approval Memos for final sign-off by the Head of Shariah Compliance.
Preparing official responses to queries on Shariah-related issues raised by management and Aitemaad Islamic Banking Branches across Pakistan.
Developing and maintaining a comprehensive Shariah Compliance Framework and review mechanism for all areas of Islamic banking.
Monitoring ongoing operational compliance with the rules and principles of Shariah, SBP instructions, and Shariah Board directives.
Conducting internal Shariah control reviews of business units, branches, and other departments.
Reviewing IT systems related to financing and liability products, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Ensuring that all staff members of Islamic Banking Units receive proper training regarding their duties and Shariah compliance.
General Information, Employment Terms, and How to Apply
