Position Overview

  • Position / Job Title: Unit Head – Collections & Recovery (Consumer Products)

  • Grade: AVP (Assistant Vice President)

  • Reporting to: Wing Head – Collections & Recovery

  • Location: Karachi


Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following basic eligibility criteria to be considered for this role:

  • Educational / Professional Qualification:

    • A minimum of a Graduation degree or equivalent from a local or international university/college recognized by the HEC.

    • Candidates holding a Master’s degree and/or any other relevant certifications will be given preference.

  • Experience:

    • A minimum of 06 years of banking experience is required.

    • Out of the total experience, a minimum of 03 years must be in Credit collections and/or Retail and/or Consumer and/or SME and/or Agri Financing.

    • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working in large-scale or public sector organizations.


Required Skills and Expertise

The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set essential for managing a collections and recovery unit:

  • Leadership & People Management: Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.

  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are crucial.

  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of collections systems, recovery strategies, capacity planning, incentive plans, and policies.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and portfolio analysis capabilities.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Sound understanding of Consumer & SME SBP Prudential Regulations.

  • IT Proficiency: Well-conversant with MS Office for data handling and reporting.


Outline of Main Duties & Responsibilities

The Unit Head will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the collections and recovery for consumer products. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing long and short-term strategies for collections and recovery aligned with business goals.

  • Ensuring that all collection practices adhere to internal policies, local laws, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Driving the collections and recovery of retail loans within specified timelines.

  • Analyzing portfolio trends, vintage performance, and delinquency movements to assess the effectiveness of collection strategies.

  • Preparing periodic MIS/reports on collections and recovery progress.

  • Setting and managing collections and recovery targets for the team.

  • Coordinating with external agencies to ensure targets are met.

  • Handling internal and external audits and ensuring timely closure of any findings.

  • Training, motivating, and supervising collection staff to improve performance.
