Unit Head – Systems Administration (AIX/Linux) (AVP/VP)
Reporting to: Wing Head – Databases & Systems Administration
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Master’s degree and/or relevant certifications preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 6 years in Systems Administration, with 3 years in a leading/managerial role in AIX/Linux Administration, preferably in banking.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Expertise in system architecture, security setup, performance optimization, auditing, and patching.
- Proficiency with IBM Power system architecture, commissioning, and installation setups.
- Experience in managing RFPs, budgeting, procurement, and SLAs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage AIX & Linux OS on IBM Power & Intel platforms.
- Supervise upgrade, migration, maintenance, and patching activities.
- Troubleshoot critical issues and provide ad-hoc support for system recoveries.
- Perform disaster recovery planning and implementation.
- Automate operational tasks using shell/bash scripts.
- Provide 24/7 support and maintain virtual environments.
SQL Database Administrator (OG-I/AVP)
Reporting to: Unit Head Databases Administration
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Master’s degree and/or relevant certifications preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years in Database Administration, with 2 years in SQL Database Administration in financial or large-scale enterprises.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of database architecture, security, performance optimization, and proactive monitoring.
- Proficient in MS Office suite.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver 24/7 database support and escalate incidents promptly.
- Manage MSSQL Server and perform day-to-day maintenance and monitoring.
- Manage database environments for upgrade, migration, maintenance, and patching.
- Troubleshoot critical issues and manage backups.
- Ensure high availability, replication, and clustering of mission-critical databases.
- Conduct routine reviews to ensure audit and compliance.
- Automate operational tasks and alerts using SQL/shell/bash scripts.
