Job Opportunities in the Federal SDGs Support Unit, Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives
The Government of Pakistan’s Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives is seeking qualified and motivated professionals for a variety of roles under its PSDP-funded project, “Establishment of Federal SDGs Support Unit.” This project aims to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across Pakistan, with positions available on a contract basis. These roles offer an opportunity for dedicated individuals to contribute to Pakistan’s sustainable development across social, economic, environmental, and technological fields.
Available Positions
- Social Sector Specialist (PPS-10)
- Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategies aimed at poverty reduction, food security, health, education, and gender equality. The role focuses on reducing inequalities and enhancing social welfare in alignment with the SDGs.
- Impact: This position is critical for addressing the social challenges that Pakistan faces, promoting inclusive development for all communities.
- Environment Sector Specialist (PPS-10)
- Responsibilities: Design and manage projects focused on environmental sustainability, climate change mitigation, and natural resource management.
- Impact: Contributes to Pakistan’s efforts to tackle climate change and promote sustainable management of natural resources.
- Economic Sector Specialist (PPS-10)
- Responsibilities: Provide expertise in economic growth, job creation, and poverty reduction strategies, supporting sustainable development through economic reforms.
- Impact: Plays a crucial role in driving Pakistan’s economic resilience and addressing poverty.
- IT/Dashboard Expert (PPS-09)
- Responsibilities: Develop digital tools and dashboards to monitor SDG progress in real-time, enhancing data visualization and information accessibility.
- Impact: Supports data-driven decision-making by making SDG-related information more accessible and transparent.
Data/Statistics Expert (PPS-09)
- Responsibilities: Collect, analyze, and report data on SDG progress to support evidence-based policy-making and transparent resource allocation.
- Impact: Provides critical statistical insights for measuring progress and identifying gaps in Pakistan’s journey towards SDG targets.
- Communication Expert (PPS-09)
- Responsibilities: Develop communication strategies to raise awareness of SDG initiatives, focusing on public engagement.
- Impact: Enhances public understanding and involvement in Pakistan’s SDG efforts.
- Admin & Finance Officer (DDO) (PPS-08)
- Responsibilities: Oversee administrative and financial operations to ensure efficient use of resources and transparent governance.
- Impact: Supports the financial sustainability of SDG initiatives by ensuring prudent use of funds.
- Research Analyst (PPS-08)
- Responsibilities: Conduct research to address country-specific and regional challenges related to the SDGs, guiding project design and execution.
- Impact: Provides local insights that help tailor SDG strategies to the unique needs of different regions within Pakistan.
- Office Assistant (PPS-05)
- Responsibilities: Provide administrative support, handling documentation, communication, and coordination to facilitate smooth project operations.
- Impact: Ensures that the unit’s daily operations run efficiently, enabling other team members to focus on SDG-specific tasks.
