Internship Program for Medical and Dental Students at the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research
The Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD) at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, has announced an Internship Program for medical and dental students, scheduled for December 1–31, 2024. This program provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and final-year students to gain hands-on research experience in fields that are highly relevant to healthcare.
About ICCBS and PCMD
ICCBS is a prestigious research institution in Pakistan with two constituent centers: the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry and the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research. Known for its world-class facilities and contributions to scientific research, ICCBS has received the Islamic Development Bank Prize twice (2004 and 2010) for excellence in the scientific community. It is also a WHO Collaborating Center and UNESCO-affiliated research institution.
PCMD focuses on training young scientists in the areas of molecular medicine and drug research, and aims to understand diseases, especially those prevalent in Pakistan. The research conducted at PCMD seeks to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of various health conditions. Six centers under ICCBS, including PCMD, have recently been recognized as Sindh Government Healthcare Research Centers.
Internship Details
This internship program aims to cultivate research interest in medical graduates by involving them in clinical research at the molecular and cellular levels. Participants will have the opportunity to develop research skills, formulate research questions, apply suitable research methods, and critically analyze findings.
