Punjab Health Department Announces Major Career Opportunities for 2025 Project

The Health & Population Department of the Government of Punjab has announced significant career opportunities within its Project Management Unit. These contract-based positions are for the crucial development project titled “Directorate of Provincial Healthcare Service Monitoring & Evaluation System.” This initiative aims to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure and service delivery across Punjab, making these roles vital for the province’s public health future.

Senior Leadership Vacancy: Program Director (PPS-11)

A strategic leadership role is open for a Program Director who will spearhead the project’s implementation and overall management. This position is central to the success of the monitoring and evaluation system.

  • Number of Posts: 1

  • Maximum Age: 65 years

  • Key Qualifications: Candidates must possess at least 16 years of education, culminating in a post-graduate degree. Preferred fields include Public Health, Health Statistics, Economics, or Business Administration. Medical Doctors, Health Professionals, or those with a degree in Social Sciences recognized by UGC/HEC are also eligible, provided their medical degrees are recognized by PMDC.

  • Essential Experience: A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in the public or private sector is required. This must include at least 8 years in mid and senior-level positions related to planning, development, or health management. Furthermore, applicants must have at least 2 years of direct experience in program administration or project management, preferably within primary or preventative healthcare programs at the district or provincial level.

Key Management Role: Additional Program Director (PPS-10)

Supporting the Program Director, this position is crucial for the operational and administrative oversight of the project.

  • Number of Posts: 1

  • Maximum Age: 55 years

  • Key Qualifications: A minimum of 16 years of education is required. Preferred fields include Public Health, Health Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or Social Sciences. Medical Professionals, including Medical Doctors and those with a BDS, are also encouraged to apply. All qualifications must be from a UGC/HEC-recognized institution.

  • Essential Experience: Applicants must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in the public or private sector. This includes at least 4 years of experience at mid and senior-level positions involving planning, development, management, or administration, ideally within primary or preventative healthcare programs.

Managerial and Specialist Job Openings (PPS-09)

Several deputy director positions are available, each focusing on a critical component of the project.

1. Deputy Program Director (Monitoring)

  • Number of Posts: 6

  • Maximum Age: 45 years

  • Qualifications: Requires at least 16 years of education in fields such as Public Health, Health Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or Social Sciences. Medical Doctors or Health Professionals (including BDS) are also eligible.

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in the public or private sector is mandatory, with at least 2 years spent in mid and senior-level roles related to planning, development, management, or administration, preferably in primary/preventive healthcare programs.

2. Deputy Program Director (Data Reporting)

  • Number of Posts: 1

  • Maximum Age: 45 years

  • Qualifications: Candidates must hold an M.Sc. or BS (Hons) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Database, or an equivalent 16-year degree recognized by UGC/HEC.

  • Experience: Requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the management, handling, analysis, and presentation of data and information systems. Experience within a primary or preventive healthcare-related program is preferred.

3. Deputy Program Director (Admin & Finance)

  • Number of Posts: 1

  • Maximum Age: 45 years

  • Qualifications: This position requires a finance professional with a relevant Master’s degree (16 years of education) in fields like Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration. Other acceptable qualifications include a Bachelor’s/Doctor of Pharmacy, MBA, MPA, ACCA, ACMA, CA, or CCA.

  • Experience: Applicants need a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in administration, procurement of goods and services, and accounts management. Experience in dealing with public accounts, pre-audits, or public sector audits is highly desirable. A strong knowledge of government financial rules and regulations is essential.
