Career Opportunity: Sector Specialist – Green Growth & Climate Change

Executives Network International (ENI), a leading development sector organization, is currently seeking profiles for the management position of Sector Specialist – Green Growth & Climate Change for its Islamabad office. This senior position plays a crucial role in designing and implementing climate change and green growth interventions within the strategic framework.

Key Responsibilities

1. Advisory & Research
   • Provide expert advice on social sector development issues.
   • Stay informed about national socioeconomic policies, including the SDGs and national frameworks.
2. Networking
   • Build and maintain relationships with donors, government officials, relevant ministries, and development organizations.
   • Share best practices and secure partnerships.
3. Leadership
   • Lead climate change, resilience, and green growth initiatives.
   • Oversee the organization’s climate change and green growth strategies.
4. Programme Development
   • Prepare concept notes, design, develop, and implement comprehensive climate change and green growth programs.
   • Focus areas include renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste management, sustainable agriculture, forestry, and other innovative solutions.
5. Capacity Building
   • Offer technical assistance and training to project staff, partner organizations, government agencies, private sector entities, civil society organizations, and communities.
6. Coordination & Facilitation
   • Organize workshops, meetings, and events to foster knowledge-sharing and collaboration.
7. Technical Expertise
   • Provide support for climate policy, adaptation, disaster risk reduction, green growth strategies, and resilience programs.
8. Project Management
   • Oversee all phases of project cycles, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and strategic priorities.
9. Representation & Reporting
   • Represent the organization in steering committees, implementation reviews, and contract negotiations.
   • Prepare progress reports, policy documents, and position papers.
10. Resource Mobilization
    • Demonstrate a proven track record in effective resource mobilization.
    • Explore any funding opportunities and prepare funding applications in collaboration with the Resources Mobilization team.

Education & Experience

• Educational Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Climate Change, Environmental Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related discipline from an overseas or HEC-recognized institution in Pakistan.
• Professional Experience:
  • A minimum of 14 years of experience in climate change mitigation and adaptation.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing relevant programs and projects.
• Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, persuasion, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Expertise in planning and coaching.
  • Strong goal-setting and motivational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
