Vacancy Details & Eligibility Criteria
Pakistan Railways is recruiting for the following essential operational categories in the Transportation Department:
1. Pointsman (BPS-05)
Number of Vacancies: 127
Scale of Pay: BPS-05
Academic Qualification: Matric (2nd Division)
2. Gateman (BPS-02)
Number of Vacancies: 35
Scale of Pay: BPS-02
Academic Qualification: Middle pass
Important Note: As per the official advertisement, Disable and Women quotas are not eligible for the above-mentioned operational categories.
Prescribed Quotas for Recruitment
The recruitment will be strictly carried out based on the following government-prescribed quotas:
Open Merit: 60%
Son of Railway Employees: 20% (Includes 2% children of deceased Railway employees who died during active service)
Ex-Serviceman: 10%
Orphan / Destitute: 05% (Father's death certificate from NADRA is mandatory)
Minorities (Non-Muslim): 05%

Age Limit & Relaxations
Standard Age Limit: 18 to 25 years + 5 years General relaxation in upper age limits up to June 30, 2026.
Ex-Servicemen: Upper age limit is relaxable to the extent of service rendered in the Armed Forces or 15 years in addition to the standard age limit, whichever is less.
Scheduled Castes & Buddhist Community: Age relaxation of 03 years in addition to the standard relaxation.
Government Servants & Contract Employees: Those with 2 years of continuous government service on the closing date receive a relaxation of 10 years.
Sons of Deceased Civil Servants: 05 years of additional relaxation if the father died during active service.

Relationship Certificate (For candidates applying under the Son of Railway Employee quota along with an affidavit stating no other child has availed this facility)

Get a Postal Order: Purchase a postal order worth Rs. 550/- (Five Hundred & Fifty Rupees only) issued in the name of the Divisional Personnel Officer, Pakistan Railways Multan.
Write Application Details: Mention the Postal Order Number and date clearly in your bio-data/application.
Prepare Envelope: Write the name of the category/post applied for clearly on the top corner of the envelope.
Send via Registered Post: Send your completed application form along with all required documents through Registered Dak (Pakistan Post) to the following address:

Key Regulations
