Gilgit-Baltistan Government Seeks Project Directors for Major Road Infrastructure Projects
The Communication & Works Department of the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan has announced job opportunities for the position of Project Director (PPS-10). The department is seeking suitable and highly qualified candidates to lead two major Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) road projects on a contract basis. This is a significant opportunity for experienced civil engineers to contribute to the infrastructural development of the region.

Mandatory Requirements for All Applicants
To be considered for these high-responsibility roles, candidates must meet the following stringent criteria:
Minimum Qualification: A B.Sc./B.E in Civil Engineering from an HEC-recognized university. All applicants must be duly registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) as a Professional Engineer. Preference will be given to candidates who hold an additional degree in MBA or Project Management.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management or implementation is required. Candidates must have a sound knowledge of project management fundamentals, particularly in public sector project planning and management processes. Of the total experience, a minimum of 5 years must be specifically in road projects.
Age Limit: The maximum age for applicants is sixty-three (63) years.
Salary Package: The position offers a salary at PPS-10 with an increase of 5% of the initial stage, as admissible under Finance Division Notification No.F.4(9)R-14/2008 dated 18th April, 2022.
Key Responsibilities of the Project Director
The Project Director will be responsible for the successful execution and implementation of the project from start to finish. Key duties include:
Ensuring the project is executed as per the approved scope, cost, and time.
Guaranteeing compliance with GFRs, Procurement Rules, and other prevailing laws.
Monitoring the project to prevent time and cost overruns.
Identifying and mitigating risks based on ground realities.
Preparing and submitting progress reports and maintaining custody of all project documents.
Working effectively with project stakeholders and staff.
Terms, Conditions, and How to Apply
Appointment Term: The appointment will be for a period of two years on a purely contract basis, which is extendable subject to satisfactory performance and the continuation of the project.
Government Employees: Candidates already in Government service must apply through the proper channel and provide a No-Objection Certificate (NOC).
