The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has announced a major recruitment drive for its medical services division. Applications are invited from suitable and eligible candidates to fill numerous specialist positions across WAPDA hospitals on a contract basis. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, which is extendable on a yearly basis subject to satisfactory performance and the requirements of the organization.
Available Medical Specialist Positions and Quota Distribution
WAPDA is seeking to fill a wide range of specialist and registrar roles. The distribution of these posts across various provincial and regional quotas is detailed below:

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience
Candidates must possess specific qualifications and experience as recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
For Specialists (Posts 1-9):
Primary Qualification: FCPS / MS / FRCS / MRCP / MD / Diplomate of American Board or equivalent medical qualifications in the respective specialty.
Experience: 3 years of practical and professional experience in the specialty after post-graduation.
Alternative Qualification: For Surgical and Eye Specialists, an FCPS / MS / FRCS / MRCP / MD in General Surgery / General Medicines or equivalent qualifications with 6 years of post-graduation practical experience is also acceptable.
Specialists (Posts 10-13):
Qualification: FCPS / MS / FRCS / MRCP / MD / Diplomate of American Board or equivalent medical qualifications in the respective specialty.
Senior Registrars (Posts 14-18):
Primary Qualification: FCPS / MS / FRCS / MRCP / MD / Diplomate of American Board or equivalent medical qualifications.
Experience: 3 years of practical experience in the specialty after post-graduation.
Alternative Option: In case candidates with the above qualifications are not available, those with an MBBS degree along with a PMDC-recognized MCPS/Diploma in the relevant specialty and 3 years of practical experience will be considered.
Age Limit and General Relaxation Rules
For Posts 1-9 (Specialists): The upper age limit is 45 years.
For Posts 10-18 (Specialists & Sr. Registrars): The upper age limit is 40 years.
Age Relaxation:
A general age relaxation of 03 years has already been included in the age limits mentioned above.
WAPDA employees who have completed 02 years of continuous regular service shall be admissible for 10 years of age relaxation.
